A land of true Italian culture, the perfect mix of distinct local identities, a valley that brings with it the legacy of those sounds and those words that have given rise to the Italian language.
Valdarno, a cozy valley in which the river Arno passes through, for centuries, has been identified as the historical and cultural center of the Italian peninsula. Nestled between Florence, Arezzo, and Siena - bordering the sweet shapes of the Chianti Hills - Valdarno has always been a passageway for artists and merchants. Where creations blend with traditional and genuine flavors, children of a generous land and remembrance of past ages.
It lies within an almost metropolitan valley in its entirety, living in the heart of Tuscany. This is where the Bonci creations were born.
The tradition of the Bonci Brothers thus draws from ancient secrets of distant times, looking beyond the clever use of new flavors, without forgetting the importance of genuine ingredients and respect for the city of Montevarchi, from which it originates.
Starting from the symbol of the city created by Andrea Della Robbia, graphically reworked for the Bonci logo, it is a tribute to an evolving identity in today's world.
The city’s coat of arms is stationed in the ancient church of San Lorenzo in Montevarchi, a keeper of the baptismal font and the relics of sacred milk, dating back to the 15th century. The coat of arms gives tribute the history of a city, with many changes throughout the centuries. Similarly, wisdom in the craftsmanship of the Pasticceria (pastry shop)Bonci looks at the present, creating new recipes, shaping new flavors to give surprising moments of fragrance and taste.
The pastry tradition passed down for generations: from father to son.
Giuseppe Bonci, living in Montevarchi in 1953, together with his brother Gino Bonci, began to build the solid foundation on which the craftsmanship of the company still stands on today. The example and the legacy of hard work by "Grandfather Beppe" continues to find fulfillment today. Skills and knowledge accompanied by a fortified experience of three generations to follow - besides the right amount of secrets kept jealously guarded and handed down from father to son - at the center of a tradition that continues by renewing through the tasty creations.
